My life as an exchange student at Ewha Woman's University in Seoul, South Korea

Text

It was pretty ok today. The sky in Seoul is only brilliantly blue on rare occasions so I consider that smoggy grey color to be the norm here.

Anyways, it went from being quiet and calm to stormy in 2.5 seconds.

My room became super dark and when I looked outside the trees across from the dorm were blowing like crazy. I had my window open so I opened the screen door and steped outside and next thing I know there was a cloud of dust coming my way. I was able to snap a few pictures before I had to close the door and the window though.

Now it’s not as dark anymore but it’s raining, not really a heavy rain but raining nonetheless

I give it 5 more minutes and the rain will more than likely stop, the clouds will roll by, and the sky will become that characteristic smoggy grey/steel blue again

Can we get some Bipolar medication for Seoul’s weather?

:D

Just finished teaching my first English lesson to my North Korean student.

I really wish I would have been able to start doing this as soon as I arrived in Korea instead of a month before leaving. However, if I had the chance, I actually wouldn’t mind coming back to Korea to teach them.

My friend invited J and I to her school, Kyunghee, because they’re having a huge festival.

I was already burning with jealousy because Busker Busker performed there the day before yesterday hahah

So we went there and it was AMAZING!

My friends pushed me into doing a limbo contest and this guy and I were partners and in the end we both won so we had to do a dance off!! I would say that was probably the highlight of my night

So much stuff happened (talent show, getting bomb rushed by a bunch of people, dance partner guy asking for my number)

I don’t know if J and I are going to go back this evening (it would be nice), but if not it was definitely a pretty awesome experience!

What’s funny is every time I go to another school’s campus, I immediately fall in love with that school. One thing I really miss is that typical lively college atmosphere. When I say that Ewha severely lacks this it is NOT an exaggeration.

I don’t know what’s going on outside or who is singing Steve Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely, but I’m really digging it

This is my absolute FAVORITE picture I’ve taken since being here.

It was just a random picture of a couple at Namsan. I don’t know who they are, but I really do hope they last
